And Community…

Sandi Lynn Gellar Memorial Family Resource Center

COMMUNITY. RESOURCES. SUPPORT

Named for a beloved and dedicated LiFT staff member, the Sandi Lynn Geller Memorial Family Resource Center (FRC), is a community-based, family-focused, inclusive program that provides services to meet the growing needs of families in our community and beyond living with neurodiversity.

our new campus will create a permanent home for the frc.

There is no textbook for parenting a child or adult with neurodiversity; and often parents and caretakers are left to navigate this journey without any direction or support. We are able to utilize our deep understanding of the challenges that neurodiverse families experience to create programs and resources which support our students, adult learners, their families, as well as the broader community.

services offered will include:

  • Parent mentoring
  • Support groups
  • Financial literacy
  • Expert speakers in different subject matters
  • Local events serving the neurodiverse population
  • Family counseling resources
  • AND MORE

What LiFT PARENTS ARE SAYING

All of our daughter’s life we were told, she can’t, she won’t, and she will never. But because of the love and support from the teachers at LiFT, she graduated in May with her high school diploma. Something we were told that she would never be able to do. She is currently enrolled at St. Petersburg College and is studying writing. She is truly living out her dreams!

Our daughter was nonverbal until she was 5 years old. She struggled in school and was often bullied by other students. We believed she had more inside her and just needed a different setting to thrive in. Thankfully, we found LiFT and with the support of the staff, she has found success academically and socially. She now loves coming to school and talks often about her friends. We are so grateful to LiFT for giving our daughter the opportunity to shine!

The school is a Godsend to me. LiFT has been my own personal savior. I know my son is safe, I know he’s happy. I drop him off, he’s happy. I pick him up, he’s happy. It’s comforting and uplifting to see my son being supported so he can reach his full potential.
